This question comes up more often than not, so I would love to know what any of you guys think about it.
Say you were traveling in a lonely stretch of highway at night. This desolate road cuts through a forest that is as dark as the night. You, driving comfortably in your car, can see the giant forest trees looming over the road. Barely visible is the night sky. The sky is dark with a shade of light purple and glittered with stars. Bright stars and planets, they’re visible through the thick canopy.
Suddenly you catch a glimpse of a bright star. What you assume to be a star, is now growing larger and larger at an alarming rate. You start slowing down, thinking it could be an emergency helicopter making a hasty landing. Without warning the growing light in the sky is so low, that it appears to be hovering a few feet of the road, yards away. You slam on the brakes and stare in disbelief.
It’s a craft. An otherworldy looking craft that now blocks the road ahead of you.
Your car is dead, battery gone. As you shield your eyes from the blinding light, you fumble out of the car and can clearly see humanoid silhouettes in the bright light. Three of them. You can’t see their features because of the intense light, but you know they are not human given the short stature, long limbs and massive heads. Your unbelieving stare is broken as you hear a strange voice emanate from the light.
“Come with us…”
You are now facing a life altering decision. Trust these alien beings and climb aboard, or run away.
If you accompany them, there are no guarantees that you will ever be the same when you come back. The world, as you once knew, might no longer be. Traveling in light years might accelerate life here on Earth while staying constant to you. You might learn things you might not want to know, like the origin of men or their demise.
If you run, then you will continue living your life with no interruptions and no qualms. Except of course when you are sitting by yourself at nights, deep in thought, thinking of what could have been?
What would an intelligent reader like yourself do in such situation?
