Looks like another reality type paranormal show is ready to be launched by A&E. Look for this on October, 19 2009.

Extreme Paranormal – Shaun, Nathan, and Jason are irreverent paranormal explorers who investigate chilling local legends, attempting to seek the truth by provoking spirits. Sep. 17–“When I was small, I had two dreams. Hunt ghosts like Scooby-Doo and be on TV.”While either goal may seem like a lofty ambition, both of Sayre native Jason Gowin’s dreams are coming true — at the same time.
Gowin will be one of the stars of a new ghost-hunting show on the A&E Channel called “Extreme Paranormal.”
For Gowin, ghost hunting and acting were always things he had been interested in. When he was a boy, he said he was very interested in “Scooby-Doo,” with its group of meddling kids searching out ghosts and monsters. He also got interested in “Ghostbusters” and began studying ghost hunting, developing a life-long interest in it, he said.
In high school, he and his friends would check out haunted locations all over Bradford County, eventually expanding their investigations further into places like Harrisburg to check out legends they had heard about.
He also worked at being an actor, acting in independent films and constantly trying to get into the acting business, he said.
“I never gave up and just kept going,” he said.
Continuing his interest in ghost hunting and the paranormal, Gowin had been on a radio show called “Encounters Paranormal Radio Show,” out of South Florida, with his longtime friend Tim Yancey. He would also go around the country and speak at events about ghost hunting, talking about his personal experiences and his adventures with other paranormal experts, he said.
As it turns out, it was when Gowin wasn’t even trying to get into the TV-industry that he got his big break.
“The producer (of “Extreme Paranormal”) found me in a random YouTube video,” Gowin said. The video was a clip of an independent comedy film Gowin had been in, and the producer became interested in Gowin after viewing the video, Gowin said.
“It completely fell into my lap.”
The show will be a paranormal investigation series, Gowin said, though it will be different than the other paranormal investigation shows that are currently on the air.
“It’s going to be different — we’re pushing the limits,” he said. Gowin and two others will be using different techniques and equipment to explore “the darker side of occult” all over the country, he said.
He added that some of the paranormal shows currently on TV stop short of going to the extreme side of paranormal investigation, because many people are afraid of it.
“If you’re going to understand something, you can’t just stop halfway,” he said.
According to a 2009 A&E Upfront Programming Announcement made in May and posted on the A&E Web site, in the show: “Shaun (Burris), Nathan (Schoonover), and Jason (Gowin) are irreverent paranormal explorers who investigate chilling local legends, attempting to seek the truth by provoking spirits. Unlike other paranormal investigators, they put themselves directly in harm’s way — taunting ghosts, summoning the dead and daring the demonic to attack.”
An hour-long special of the show will debut on Oct. 19 at a yet undetermined time, Gowin said. A second hour-long special will air on Oct. 26, and if the ratings are high enough, the show will be picked up by A&E as a series, he said.
“I’m very excited,” Gowin said. “I don’t know what to expect because I’ve never been on TV before…It’s surreal.”
