Generally, in regards to UFO’s that is, video and photos of UFO’s are questionable at best. Most times the camera is either shaky, way out of focus or has no real reference points to work with. What amazes me more though is the rise of the YouTube stars. As far as the UFO section of YouTube, you’ll get your yearly allowance of fraudulent UFO videos in an evening’s sitting. It’s so horrible in fact that after watching some of these videos, I read the comments below them and, to my dismay, find that my hopes for the human race are quickly diminishing. People swallow these videos hook, line and sinker.

Going by YouTube  standards, it appears that anything flying that does not make engine noise, is a UFO. Sterling observation, Holmes. Let’s take a quick look at this. In this day and age, planes are everywhere. Small planes, large planes, helicopters, military, commercial, private, pilotless, engineless, derigibles, balloons. The list is long and really not too distinguished. Planes are always around us, at all times of day. whether we realize it or not. I keep getting different numbers from the internet, but we all know there is a lot of flights daily in the United States alone. People see airplanes and generally don’t think one second about it. Personally, I live five miles away from Cleveland’s major airport and I couldn’t tell you the last time I saw much less heard an airplane, because my brain has already ignored them they are so frequent. One of my interesting observations is as follows: If the wind is blowing correctly and the humidity is right, I can hear the planes taking off at the airport. It is not a common occurance, but it happens. So just because a plane is spotted flying more than ten miles away means it should make noise?  People not living near airports could really start to mistake anything flying in the night sky as ‘extraterestrial’. Now I really don’t want to insult people. We are intelligent beings with brains in our heads and we know better. OR do we? I’ve seen videos taken at night of purported UFO’s that make me think: WTF is wrong with you? Do you really think that is a UFO?!? Or is it that you want to be a YouTube star?

Now I’m not going to rip into the videos posted here. I can. Believe me. It would be easy. The point being is that these are very obvious, yet track back and watch these links on YouTube and check out the comments below. It is easy to debunk these, yet people appear to believe what is being presented to them.

These are obvious. Airplanes!  Yep, bonafide man made flying machines, easily distinguishable by their telltale FAA light blinking on it. Now I am not sure about what standards the FAA has for their lighting scheme, but I do believe this is a small to medium sized aircraft, more likely a twin-engined Beechcraft or learjet style. In some of the shots you can even tell one wingtip has a green navigation light while the other has a red navigation light. These lights are on the plane so that heaven forbid if you were flying head on, you pass on the ‘green’ side of the plane. Anyhows, if you follow these links back to YouTube you will notice there are two other videos similar to this one. In the second one, the camera is so out of focus that it blurs the image. You can still make out the red blinking FAA light on it though. Even better yet was the image of a plane from behind showing all nav lights and the person filming states out loud “It ain’t no ****ing helicopter”. No kidding. In the third video, quote of the year in the video “I find it incredible with all my UFO reports, not one investigator has ever been here”. I wonder why this is.

Ditto to the second installment. This was suposedly a UFO from China, and for what little visual entertainment we see, at least we get to listen to some Frank Zappa. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. This is an airplane! Blinking FAA lights remember!

Another classic example of a UFO, complete with comments of belief. I actually frequent www.spaceweather.com and see these types of pictures often, but even without any prior knowledge, my first thought when seeing this: Rocket. Sure enough that is what it is, yet reading the comments below this video makes me want to do the facepalm.

Last but not least is this guy. I don’t want to beat the guy down, but for crying out loud, actual UFO enthusiasts must comtemplate something dark for this YouTube star. I had the joy of watching about seven to ten minutes of this guys video’s of UFO’s. What I can tell you about this video (and several others) is the are…airplanes! Yep, more of these dastardly contraptions, this time though they are surely in a landing pattern. If you want to avoid this guys commentary, skip to the 2:39 second mark, but I do suggest to watch.

Back in the day when Cleveland actually had a air hub, I would see five to eight of these (pending visibility) all lined up and approaching for landing. You would be amazed at how many different landing light configurations you would see, not to mention sometimes a plane would be flashing it’s gear lights on and off. This guy would have thought they were talking morse code or something.

Another video I had tucked away for this article was taken from inside an airplane. The video was of a UFO pacing the aircraft. What was shown was video of the sun’s reflection either of the cockpit window, or even off the airplane itself. The ‘UFO’ paced it way on the cloud deck below the airplane before mysteriously disappearing. Sadly, many of these videos are not only being presented as UFO’s, people actually do believe what is being presented to them, without second thought. Even blatant fakes and hoax’s make viewers of YouTube say “Was that real?” Unfortunately for UFO enthusiasts, these video’s disgrace the idea of UFO’s and discredit those who seek them.
