Alien skull? yea sure.

According to two scientists, the over-sized skull that was found in the Andahuaylillas in the southern province of Quispicanchi, Peru, is that of an alien. No really…an actual extraterrestrial being. I’ll give you a second to collect your thoughts.

Renato Davila Riquelme is the man responsible for finding the bizarre looking remains. Renato works at the Privado Ritos Andinos museum, as an anthropologist. According to this Daily Mail article, Renato described the eye cavities as being “far larger than normally seen in humans,“ Renato went on describing the mummy. “There is a soft spot in the skull – called an open fontanelle – which is a characteristic of children in their first year of life, yet the skull also has two large molars, only found in much older humans.three anthropologists, from Spain and Russia, arrived at the museum last week to investigate the findings and agreed it was ‘not a human being’ and would conduct further studies. Although the assessment was superficial, it is obvious that its features do not correspond to any ethnic group in the world.”

It’s a very peculiar statement for someone associate with a museum to make. In fact, it’s downright suspect.

Renato was the man who said that Spanish and Russian scientists examined the remains and claimed them to be extraterrestrial. He also was, conveniently, the man who discovered the mummy. I would imagine that a person associated with an educational institute,  such that as a museum, would choose to use better words when talking to the press. Or maybe not better words, but choose to not verbalize his fantasian beliefs. Yes, I’m aware that “fantasian” isn’t a word. But who cares. I’m trying to make a point here.

Point is, there are hundreds of examples of deformed and elongated skulls being found in the deserts of Peru. Cranial deformation

is nothing new. Ancient civilizations have practiced this tradition for eons. From the sun-baked temples of Egypt to the tropical paradises of the Mayans. Bandaging a child’s skull tightly enough to deform their soft heads is something of an art form. We might not understand it, but we don’t have to really. It’s just the way it was.

There have been recent skulls dug up in Peru that also resemble “aliens”. Why is Renato’s skull different? Larger eye orbitals? That makes you an alien? Since when did the Daily Mail write for “Ancient Aliens” ?

I don’t know, maybe I’m just being an asshole. Every time I read or hear about some ancient alien theory it just rubs me the wrong way. I’m of Mexican descent. I believe that my ancestors possessed the capability to understand math, astrology and astronomy. Organized social structures and organized religion. But when I hear some theory about how the Aztecs or Mayans lacked the “technology” to construct such magnificent cites or temples it just pisses me off.

I’m not sure why the media is blasting this story as something extraterrestrial in origin. Then again I’m always unsure of the news nowadays.
