La Nacion is reporting that an unknown explosion has leveled a few buildings, killing at least one person, in the town of Monte Grande, Argentina. What is also included in some reports are the testimonies from witnesses who claim to have seen a gigantic fireball falling from the sky just before 2 am on Monday morning. The blast leveled off a few buildings, destroyed cars and injured several. There also exists a video, in which YouTube user LuckyMauro claims to have uploaded a video in which shows the plume of smoke the object left behind.
Almost immediately, the word began to spread that an alien craft crashed on the small Argentinean town. Countless websites have made the claim that a UFO craft was responsible for the fiery damages, while others began to question NASA. The claims that the NASA satellite that was supposed to re-enter the Earth last week is to be blamed for the fireball. Others were quick to blame HAARP.
Of course all of these are just rumors. It turns out that the video that was uploaded by LuckyMauro may have been of another incident. According to this RT.com article, he is being charged for giving false testimony.
Amidst the rumors of an alien craft crashing down on Monte Grande, or that a gigantic fireball was seen by several witnesses, investigators have not yet found any evidence of a crater. Many would say that a faulty gas line is to be blamed for the explosion, but preliminary investigations ruled that out. What caused the explosion in Monte Grande? My guess is that the answer is not in the skies, but more likely related to a precarious gas line.
