David Martines, an “armchair astronaut”, is claiming to have found a “space station” in Mars using nothing but the Google Mars project.
Exploring his way through the martian terrain, from his web browser, Martines was able to find a strange anomaly in the surface of the red planet. According to Martines, this is a space station. He even lists the coordinates to the location of the said station. 7 49’19.73″N 29 33’06.53″W
An interesting find to say the least. But what really is it?
Could David Martines have stumbled upon some important discovery on what we believe to be an uninhabitable planet? A more rational explanation could be that this is just a glitch on the imaging software where the “cross-stitching” between the digital scans has produced an anomaly.
One could spin it and say that this is just a software glitch. Case closed! I’d be tempted to believe whole-heartedly that, but the very small part of me which is a little bit of a conspiracy theorist says: “Whoa! hold on man. Don’t you for one second let your guard down and trust these G men!“. You see, I think that the smallest possibility exists that maybe this is something artificial, not formed natural on Mars. It’s as if the red sands are starting to show their buried secrets.
But come on, I should know better than to think for a minute that some alien civilization built this station. Or that this is some hidden US space station used as an apocalyptic nuclear-war shelter used to keep a group of elitist which included some insanely wealthy oil tycoon from the middle east, some super intelligent geek type that sits in some cold CIA lab and the inventor of the Snuggie. I should be more rational and logical than that. What am I talking about…”something artificial”…Jesus man, get a grip on reality. More than likely, David Martines has stumbled upon the lost space station of Total Recall.
EDIT: Sorry, the correction has been made. The actual coordinates are:
