A new Bigfoot sighting has been reported in the woods around Pittsburgh. According to the report that I read on the Examiner this morning, a man by the name of Sam reported seeing a large hairy bipedal creature walking with ease through the deep snow. He called the local Bigfoot investigators, who were out in the field taking photographs and collecting data.

It was early Tuesday morning February 8th 2011, Sam was just exiting route 60 at about 7:45AM and about to turn into the PA turnpike when something odd caught his attention.

The intersection was in the middle of a rolling landscape with hills on every side. The tenacious winter weather of the season had coated the hills with much snow, and every hill was glistening white in the early morning sun. But to his left a large dark brown figure stood out in stark contrast to the colorless background. It was a massive dark brown humanoid figure, trudging its way effortlessly through the deep snow that covered the hillside to his left. Sam was shocked and amazed. The figure was familiar to him, he had seen it so many times before on documentaries and cable television specials. He was watching a Bigfoot creature first hand from about 100 yards away.

At the initial glance, his car had continued on the ramp, Sam quickly put it in reverse and backed up a few feet to get a better view.

The large figure was dark brown, like that of a dark tree bark. It was very tall and lanky, and with three quick strides it disappeared from sight into the trees to its left. Its movements were hulking and lumbering, with its arms swinging side to side as if to aids it great mass up the hillside. The creature moved incredibly fast, for within an instant, it was gone. The whole sighting lasted anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds.

Within the hour Sam was on the phone with Eric Altman, Director of the PA Bigfoot Society to relate what had transpired. On Friday February 11th, Eric and Chris Brinker began the on site investigation. Following are some excerpts from his preliminary investigation:

“Based on a map of the area and the witness description of where he stated he was, we found a back road above the hillside from where we thought the witness sighted the creature. We arrived at 10:30 am. We parked the vehicle on the side of a snowy road. Weather conditions were 12 degrees, aproximately 1 to 2 inchesof snow on the ground and sunny. We loaded up a video camera, 35 mmcamera and bincoulars. We entered the woods from above after walking a short distance on a private driveway.
