GT readers Carlos M. sent me an email today that included the above video clip.

The video is from Pioneiro (Pioneer) news site which states the following:

An image captured by a surveillance camera at the Penitentiary Regional de Caxias do Sul, Catcher, is causing uproar among staff and nearly 400 prisoners from jail. A cena, captada à 0h43min de 12 de outubro, mostra um vulto passando pela câmera. The scene, captured from 0h43min to October 12, shows a figure passing by the camera.

For some people who had access to footage, this is a “ghost” one of the two prisoners were killed by colleagues in the chain this year. Também há quem diga que seja uma “alma penada”. Also some say that is a “ghost.” Os mais céticos afirmam se tratar de uma ilusão de ótica. Skeptics claim this is an optical illusion.

I can’t dismiss this as a mere “optical illusion” like the article states, but this could by caused by a bug on the camera or maybe a security guard that was caught off-guard. No pun intended.
