Haunted Olympics? Hope so…

Some say that disturbing ancient burial sites will bring out the spirits

With the 2012 Olympics looming over London, Construction is underway for the site of the arena. Near the construction site, archaeologists found a mass grave of 51 or so massacred Vikings. Many people have come out and said that unearthing or disturbing graves could result in the spirits of the dead coming back and creating havoc. Something similar to the 1980s movie “Poltergeist”.
The final resting place of the dead is something most of us would not want to desecrate. Some big companies/corporations really don’t care whose graves or sacred ground they desecrate, as long as they make money.

Remember the incident with Wal-mart building a new store less than a mile away from the sacred ancient city of Teotihuacan, Mexico?
Less than a mile! Teotihuacan has not even been fully excavated yet, and here is a U.S. Corporation building close to the ancient city. No respect….

THE ghosts of headless Viking warriors are set to cause mayhem at the 2012 Olympics.

Psychics fear their spirits will seek revenge after builders dug up their execution site while building the road to the games’ sailing centre.

On a hilltop close to the site in Weymouth, Dorset, archaeologists found what they believe are the headless skeletons of 51 Vikings slain by Anglo Saxon natives 1,000 years ago.

The skulls of the men, who all appeared to be in their prime, were neatly stacked in a pile.

Experts think they were stripped naked before being beheaded with swords and axes.

Their hacked bones show it took several swipes to do the job.

Psychics fear unearthing the remains could stir up the spirits of the victims of the bloodbath.

And they have urged Lord Coe and the London 2012 Committee to send in ghostbusters before it is too late.

Paranormal investigator and psychic Dean “Midas” Maynard said: “A mass burial like this, especially with such a history, is exactly the kind place where you would expect to see apparitions.

“Disturbing it will have stirred things up and the way they were killed means there will be a lot of negative energy around.

“I would be extremely surprised if someone hasn’t experienced something already.

“I know there is a lot of work going on there but I would advise them to get someone like myself to go there and conduct an investigation. There may be a need for an exorcism.”

TV psychic Derek Acorah also suspects the discovery could have spooky repercussions.

He said: “It has been known, when something has been unearthed of this nature, that at the time of the opening of it you can get spiritual phenomena taking place.

“It all depends on what the souls of the men were like in their physical life.

“If they were middle-of-the-road sorts of characters there probably won’t be anything to worry about.

“But if they were what we would now perhaps call psychopathic then you will get ghoulish figures or apparitions for years to come.”

The Vikings – warriors from modern-day Scandinavia – got a reputation for rape and pillage during their horrific raids on British coastal regions from the 5th Century onwards.

By the 10th Century – when the skeletons were buried – they had successfully established permanent settlements in the North and East of England but still terrorised the south coast on attacks.

Kim Siddorn, author of Viking Weapons And Warfare, thinks the skeletons belonged to a raiding party trapped by vengeful locals.

He said: “They had left their ship, walked inland, run into an unusually well-organised body of Saxons and were probably forced to surrender.”

Dean Maynard thinks the victims could have a chance to revenge their deaths in 2012 by scuppering our medal chances.

He said: “They need to send someone down there to deal with this. We don’t want any problems now.”
