Well it’s been a long, long weekend. Sleepless nights and tiresome days, but we managed to migrate GhostTheory to a new platform.
Since I started the website about a year ago, the traffic has grown exponentially and it’s former features and look was not that accommodating to us and our readers. So, since Friday afternoon we setup a new dedicated server to house the website. It’s modified to run so fast, that you won’t have time to sip your coffee while browsing through posts. Well, not really. But it’s faster than before.
Besides the hardware changes, I also made some backend changes to the site. fine tuning the services and database.
Now, let’s talk about what affects you guys.
The new theme we are using on GhostTheory is something Joe and myself decided upon. It’s really cool!
You first notice that on the upper right-hand corner the “featured” articles now scroll automagically. This is a good feature given that it will keep rotating our most talked about articles on the site.
Next you will notice the color changes on the category bar. This is helpful for the eyes and to color-code our categories.
Another major feature is at the bottom of the site. We have the latest video on the left-hand corner. For your viewing pleasure.
Next to that is a random post feature. When bored, you can go through our older posts.
One thing I want to tell you guys is that this theme might have a few bugs. We are ironing them out for the next week or so.
So the site is still under cosmetic construction.
One thing we did not finalize (as you can tell) is our old logo.
Both Joe and I are more techies than graphic artists. So this is where you guys come into play.
We are holding a contest for the next week or so. The person who submits a logo that blends well with our theme gets a $50 cash prize.
Here are some guidelines for the contest:
1. Logo must contain our site name
2. Logo must blend well with the color scheme of the site
That’s it. I hope you guys enjoy this new theme.
